we listened to our users, refined existing features and added others to make your life as a Video Assist Operator easier.

This Program turns a PC into the "ultimate" virtual VCR. It was custom-designed by Video Assist professionals specifically for use on motion picture sets. Other systems may try to press Editing software into service as a production tool (not the best approach) and there are still others that simply lack the features you really need.

Features like Removable Media Tracking or a Visual Thumbnail Database or even a real Scene Search function. Cinelog has all of these and a lot more. 

As an operator, you will appreciate Cinelog's short learning curve and intuitive interface that will enable you to work faster, smarter and easier on the set. 

Cinelog 4TM has a built-in editor that can quickly perform frame-accurate
cuts. For anything more complicated than a straight cut we can include, as an option, the full version of Adobe Premiere 5.1 or 6.  Premiere® is a versatile Non-Linear Editing System (NLE) designed for video professionals. Premiere's elegant interface and superb editing tools give you a wide range of creative options for complex editing and compositing.

Software Features
Instant 
Record		 You don't have to identify the scene number ahead of time-- just start recording and add the info during the take.  You can be reviewing something that was shot days ago and then, with one click, start recording the present scene-- no fast-forward, no delays!
Automatic
Take Advance		 When you push Stop, the take counter advances to the next number-- ready to record the next take.
Rehearsal
Mode		 This mode adds a separate identifier number to rehearsals so that they are easily recognized.  When you go into Rehearsal mode the Scene Number is locked so that you don't get confused when you go back to filming real Takes.
Multiple
In & Out Pointers		 Set an in-point marker where the action starts so that you can play back without wasting time.  For takes that are a long series of multiple actions, you can add a marker for each.  Cinelog even allows you to set different speeds for each segment, or mark individual segments as "favorites".
Instant 
Playback		 Simply find the Scene Name and Take Number you want to see, then double-click on it and it will start to play.  Alternately, you can select a whole block of takes or a random selection of takes and play them back in sequence.

Search		  
Finding the exact scene is as easy as typing the number into the Search window.  The correct scene is instantly highlighted in the log.  Cinelog 4 can track ten thousand and more scenes--  and getting to them is no longer a "needle in the haystack" operation. If you are using multiple cameras, the takes pile up so quickly that these search functions (and our new filter functions) will become an essential tool on the set. 
Media
Tracking		 Cinelog is the only computer video-assist system that will automatically keep track of which removable drives or writeable disks you have recorded on... Removable Hard Drives, CD-R, DVD-R, Jaz, Orb If you try to play a take that is not on the current disk, Cinelog will tell you which disk to insert in the drive. This feature is indispensable for long-form projects and full-length feature films.
Looping
Playback		 How many times have you heard, "Could you play that good take for us a few more times?" and 25 plays later your, "button finger" is getting sore! With Cinelog you can loop a take or a series of takes with just one click.
Drag'n Drop
Editor		 Quickly create frame accurate edits by dragging selected takes onto the timeline. You can precisely adjust each scene's cut-points from inside the editor and then play the final scene without having to render a new file. Make some more adjustments and view the results again-- instantly-- and without consuming any additional disk space. Save all of the edit points for later recall, experiment with different cut-points or rearrange the scene order by simply dragging them to new positions. Slug in new footage on the fly and while all of this is going on you are still only one button click away from being ready to record new scenes. If the Internal editor doesn't do the trick just drag the Scene to Premiere 5.1/6 (optional).
On-Screen 
Video Monitor		 Shows a full-motion picture-in-picture preview window during all modes: record, playback and standby.
Full Screen
Playback		 With a click you can expand the monitor view to full screen for a larger image.  Perfect for those times the Director is looking over your shoulder!
Audio
VU Meters		 The real-time Audio VU meters give you an accurate measurement of your audio input levels.  And the visual indication confirms that you have an incoming signal without having to wear headphones. Automatic muting makes sure the director only hears what he wants to hear.
The Ramplifiertm
Speed-Ramping Plugin		 Cinelog Version 4 includes a plugin program for previewing the speed-ramping effect that has become so popular.  There is an "Instant Preview" mode that generates a cut from one speed to another and there is also an exclusive "High-Quality Rendered" mode that computes the speed change over time and actually generates the in-between frames for a smooth film-like transition. The new Version now allows multiple speed transition points to simulate even the most complex camera speed effects.
Disk Space
Indicator		 Tells you how many minutes of storage you have left and warns you when you get below five minutes remaining.
The StarListTM  Gives you instant access to all of your selected or "starred takes"-- great for exporting scenes for editing or just showing someone "all the good takes." Version 4 now includes support for up to 10 configurable lists with preset filters. Have all the rehersals on one tab or only scenes from Camera "A" or "B" on another. Now finding a scene has become easier even if your projects grow in size and complexity.
Visual
Thumbnail
Gallery		 The Visual Thumbnail Gallery manages your scenes with story-board style pictures. You select the still picture that best represents the action as you go. Open the Gallery and then click on any of the stills to instantly highlight that scene in the log.  This is a huge help if someone who does not know the scene numbers asks you to play a take. With Cinelog v.4 you can send the Gallery display to the TV monitor output of your system, story-board style, so that anybody on the set can reference it .
   
Multi-Camera Support Together with our Additional Software "CineLINK" you can link up multiple Cinecorders to form a multi-camera recording network. The "slave" recorders do not require keyboards or monitors, so they can be simplified "Slave-Only" machines, or, you can alternately use any network-enabled Cinecorder as a slave. This approach allows you to use a full Cinecorder (not a slave-only machine) as normal Single-Camera machines on a one-camera shoot and also in combination with each other for bigger projects. Cinelink is a free* upgrade if you already own two or more full versions of Cinelog v.4. (*There is a set-up and support charge if you are not familiar with computer networking).
